Project Space Farm

A cosy farming rogue-like in space!
Project Space Farm (just a placeholder) is my first game project since finishing my studies and setting out to be a solo game dev. One of my initial game ideas was for a Hades - style gauntlet runner where you can place structures with adjaceny bonuses to upgrade your stats as you go. I have shelved this idea for now on the basis of it being too large and not fully formed. Project Space Farm is my way of taking one part of that game - the adjacency bonuses and grid based placement - to hopefully have a scope that I can release a demo for within 1 year. From there I can use what I have learned to work on the original idea, or continue with fully releasing this game, or both.
The main inspiration for the game is Terracards, a farming deckbuilding roguelike on Steam. The game is great and wonderfully addictive, but personally I have found that around turn 200 it becomes a bit of a chore to continue, and that the deck-aspect of the game is not fully realised. So with Project Space Farm I am hoping to look at those areas.
